Washington DC Engagement Photographer – Molly + Matt Engaged

I photographed Molly and Matt’s early morning engagement session this past Sunday. Their idea for the session was to just hang out in their neighborhood, which also happens to be one of my favorite areas of DC. They like to take long walks around the neighborhood whenever they can, so it seemed fitting to do the same for their session. We got coffee at The Coffee Bar, where I can say, I had the best croissant EVER in my life. Also, Ben’s Chili Bowl, and the restaurant next door which is conveniently called Next Door, which is also where they went on their first date.

These images are just a snippet of the time we spent together, can’t wait for their wedding which will be at Dalgren Chapel at Georgetown University.

Washington DC Boudoir Photographer – A Tattooed Boudoir Session

When my friend approached me to do a boudoir session for her first anniversary, I was like “hell yeah!”, and when she said that she wanted to showcase the artistry that her husband had done, I was even more pumped. Brandi and Eric have been married one year, and she wanted to give him an awesome gift that he would’ve never imagined. From what I hear, he was totally surprised, and LOVED the idea. Also, he was totally surprised that she had the idea to show off the tattoos that he had done on her, which by the way, are beautiful!

I can only show a few, but I thought these frames would sum up the way the session went.

P.S. This shoot was done in my bedroom. I always knew the lighting in there was fantastic.

Washington DC Engagement Photographer – Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens

Lauren and Alan met me bright and early the other morning for their Hirshhorn Museum engagement session. It was brisky, and the tourists were all trapped at the Cherry Blossom Festival. We had the place all to our own…mainly because it was 7 am. They’re getting married at Le Meridien Hotel in Arlington, with a rooftop ceremony!

If you’re wondering why I’ve been so quiet lately, it’s because we’ve been in the process of moving! We sold our house in 1 day, yes I said 1 day! And (knock on wood), we’ve got a contract down on our dream home. This is the first time I’ve mentioned this online, because I am ridiculously superstitious. If everything goes as planned though, we’ll be living on a lake! Wish us luck, and keep your eyes peeled for more work in the coming week!

Washington DC engagement photographer – Adams Morgan Engagement

Brooke and Pete are two hilarious individuals. Pete teaches and peforms stand-up and improvisational comedy in and around DC, and kept us laughing all over Adams Morgan. They’re getting married later this year at Whitehall Manor, a beautiful venue out in the Virginia mountains.

In Print! Paraguay Mag

The other day I was telling a friend that one of my goals for 2013 was to get published in a magazine. To my surprise, a few days later, I found out that an image I took was published in the first edition of Paraguay Mag in December! This shot is of my old friend Cacho Falcon, an amazing artist in NY. That same weekend in NY I also met and shot with the amazing war photojournalist Zoriah Miller. If you know me personally, you might realize the coincidence that my first image in print would be from the Southern Cone. I used to live in Argentina, and I still to this day hold that part of the world very close to my heart, and one day hope to shoot a wedding there.

Also, of course, make sure to check out Cacho’s work. I met him when he first moved to the states and knew little English, and I, little Spanish. He has come so far with his art, at one point working with Jean Paul Gaultier, Vogue, and the Guess Marciano line. In other words…he’s awesome! His commissioned pieces are truly unique and intimate, I’ll be getting one this year for sure!

Washington DC Wedding Photographer- Trummers on Main

Happy New Year! I’ve been blessed with some of the best clients this year, some that have become good friends of mine. 2013 is looking to be my most busy year to date, and I’m so excited for what this coming year has in store. I’ll be shooting the first ever wedding at the Canoe Outpost on the Little Manatee River and a wedding in the mountains in Western Massachusetts, among some of my favorite locations in the DC area. I’ve also got a wonderful designer working on my new logo, with the possibility of a revamp of my website as well. I have so many weddings and sessions to share with you from this past year!

Jen and Ryan had a lego themed wedding at Trummers on Main in Clifton, Virginia a few days before Halloween. Their ceremony and gathering was intimate and relaxed, accompanied by the amazing food from Trummers and Lego building that Ryan and Jen had planned for their guests. The quaint town of Clifton made for a perfect location for portraits.
