Winter Wedding Inspiration

Last winter I had the privilege to work with some amazing vendors on a winter wedding inspirational shoot set in the Virginia countryside.   Rixey Manor made for the perfect backdrop for this dark and romantic shoot that I had been pondering over with designer Rebecca of A Daily Something.  Hair and makeup were expertly done by Julie of Jewel Hair Design and Jennifer of Phenomenal Faces.  As always, I loved working with Laura of Loda Floral Design, she was able to put together the most beautiful bouquets and centerpieces.  Calligraphy was by Joie de Vivre and the dress was Gossamer, and ribbon by Silk and Willow.  The most amazing cake was designed and made by Macarena at Dulce Custom Cakes.   These ladies are some of the best in the business and I value their friendships so much.

You can now view this shoot on the blog Artfully Wed.

Virginia Backyard Wedding

Vasilia and Joe. What can I say?

They are kind and genuine and definitely bad ass.  They threw a Virginia backyard wedding with some serious style and an equally creative engagement session that has been my most unique to date.  I knew from our first meeting that they were the perfect fit.  When brainstorming what they wanted their wedding to be like, they basically came up with the same key words and knew that it was meant to be. I love how they followed their gut instinct and went with it.  Guests showed up in full 1920s attire and rocked it. They had BBQ, lawn games, some serious baklava, and a pull down projector for movies to finish off.

Virginia Boudoir Photographers

Hello friends!

As this year and wedding season comes to a close, I feel fortunate to look over another amazing year doing what I love and celebrating that with some really amazing clients.  The studio on my property is completed, and I’m loving the opportunity that it’s given me.  For those of you that don’t know, my husband and I converted an existing shed into the coolest little studio around, mainly to be used for boudoir shoots, a part time yoga studio, as well as a place for friends to crash during summertime parties.  I like to call it the “tiny studio”, but it’s really so much more than that.  Eventually an entire post will be dedicated to it’s introduction, but for now, I’d like to post a recent boudoir shoot that I just love.  A birthday gift for her hubby.

I’m thinking of putting together a boudoir marathon of sorts with make up and hair included, stay tuned on my Instagram and Facebook for details! Christmas and Valentines Day is fast approaching, so let’s get together and make some beautiful images for the one you love or for yourself!  Virginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir Studio Virginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir StudioVirginia Boudoir Photographers - Fredericksburg Virginia Boudoir Studio

A Lake SessionVirginia Fine Art Boudoir

I feel very lucky to live right on the water.  Those Pisces traits really ring true for me, in that it is and always has been a place of reflection, rejuvenation and of being in my element.  We are our happiest here.  The day before, I shot a session (also along the shores of the lake) and had a bucket of left over florals to use up provided by my friend Linda Ha.  My friend Megan was more than willing to come over and oblige this crazy idea I had, an Ophelia like shoot.  Dark and moody yet romantic and feminine.

The lake did not cooperate that day.  It was very windy, and the flowers blew away the moment we laid them in the water.  It was cold, and Megan was scantily clad.  She was also very brave, because I can affirm that there are indeed leeches in our lake.  Nonetheless, I love these photos, and hope to continue this as a project with her, a different kind of fine art boudoir shoot.

I’m thinking of doing a boudoir marathon of sorts coming up this November and would love to hear from you!  I’m not able to show too much of my work online, so please contact me to view a gallery in private.  Also, you can see some of my boudoir reviews here.
